Default Can I self-refer?

Hi

I had to have a baby tooth removed a couple of weeks ago (bless it it had hung on for 30 years longer than they usually do!) and have no second tooth to replace it.

However, my NHS dentist seems very negative about dental implants, kept trying to push me towards a bridge and said he would not refer me for an implant for at least 6 months. Reading the response to the question below, I see that 3 months is the maximum time you should wait!

How can I find someone who does dental implants in my area (Suffolk)? Using the helpful list on this site, I've phoned most of the cosmetic dentists but none do dental implants. Also, if I do find someone, can I self-refer?

Thanks
Belle
