I have a few questions about an implant I had a week ago this was a top tooth 4th from left big front tooth,
1. While the implant heals they put a temp maryland bridge in, the stuff they used to secure it the back of the other 2 teeth I can now see on the back of one of the teeth and it is all grey, will they be able to remove this grey stuff from the other teeth when they remove the temp bridge ? 2. The dentist who did the implant put a dressing over the gum, it looks like chewing gum, how long is that supposed to stay on ? I'm not seeing the dentist again until next Friday and by that time it would of been on for 2 weeks but Im already getting a funny taste in my mouth from it. 3. I do alot of running but have been too parniod to run since the implant for fear of dislodging it while healing, do I really need to worry about this, if so how long should I stop running for ? Cheers |

Hi
I would stress that it is important you ask these questions to your dentist who placed these implants. They are quite specific, therfore we may give you the wrong answers....especially without looking at your mouth. 1. if the temp bridge is a maryland bridge then the grey you see will be removed eventually. 2. Personally I say to my patients after placing implants, that they can carry out normal duties or exercise the day after. This does not apply if the patient has had bone grafting or sinus lifts. Good luck! Kal
