Default What is every ones new year resolution?

Mine is to make a positive out of every negative in life and make the most of every opportunity

1. Not to worry about what you can never have
2. Make the most of what you can have

I guess we all need to set ourselves personal, emotional and financial goals in life.

-Make more money
-Enjoy the money with the people that care
-Take more holidays and travel more this year - I have already booked a holiday to China, Las Vegas and thinking of other places - mainly long weekends due to work commitments but intend to make the most of them - life is too short to think about the future.

I also have the same goals as everyone else - go to the gym and get fitter! (not sure if this one will happen!)

Nice holiday list! I'm off to the States 8 times to study. I'll be studying with Frank Spear and Howard Chasolen, how lucky was I to get into thier study groups?!

For me it to continue to excell in my clinical abilities and never to compromise on quality.

I aslo want to spend more time with those I'm closest to. I wonder how much we'll get done, it'll be interesting checking this later in the year!

My new years resolutions are as follows and yes yes i know one of them is cliché to be posting on this site!

To get my personal design portfolio together online in a website i am proud of.
To get some art projects done that i have been thinking of for so long, but never "had the time for" aka put off for whatever reason.
Get a part time job and save up for things i want like getting my teeth done and joining a gym (there is the cliché and as Pav said everyones favourite the gym!)
Stop worrying about doing everything wrong and just trust myself and go with the flow
On a random note... when studying to be a dentist, what percentage of the "course" for use of a better word, is hands on practice and written coursework based? just wondering cause all this Dentist talk is making me wanna be one, bless me, i'll wanna be a astronaut again when i watch the new alien vs. predictor film, i'm still a child haha

Happy new year guys and gals

5 years at uni, 4 years in clinic with about 4 days per week clinical and 1 day lectures. Most studying is done as home work.

You then need to do a year vocational training.

Then if u want to be good, you need to plumb hundreds of thousands of your earnings into continued training. Popadoopus has mentioned this perviously, I think.

Many don't want to spend on their teeth and are looking for the cheapest option. If these people want a new car, would they spend £1000 and expect a brand new Bentley?

I plan on quit smoking going cold turkey, and be better to my teeth.
Would be nice if dentist prices here were a little less. Luckily quitting will be cheaper. Been reading up on advice at goingcoldturkey.com

Our prices here reflect our quality of work. I know most of the dentists who post and can say the same for them also. We are all here as we genuinely care and won't compromise on quality

Well Dr Khaira a brand new bentley is a bad example because it immediately depreciates by about a third Ideally you should hire one for a week for the £1,000 and see if it's what you really want. Suddenly you might find that it is an extremely impractical purchase because you have to spend hours looking after it and it is no good over speed bumps. Try before you buy, caveat emptor and all that...

Just out of interest I wonder how many dentists let patients try in cosmetic work before they fit it permanently. Some practices seem to now create temp crowns mimicking the end result, which patients can try in and change. Seems very sensible. I've never worked out the point of showing a patient a wax up though.

By the way my new years resolution is not to have any new year resolutions. I already don't smoke, drink little alcohol and no caffeine, eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

All cosmetic work should be tried in. Just showing a wax up is not good planning!

Do things properly. If you do them half heartedly to keep costs down you'll run into problems
