Default Is is possible to have a clear fixed brace when my front tooth is missing?

Hi
I knocked my upper front tooth out almost 20 years ago and have worn a maryland bridge ever since.
I am unhappy with my teeth as they are slightly crooked and would like to have them straightened with the 6 month clear fixed brace.
My question is can you have a brace like this when you have a gap? If so, how do you maintain the correct size space for the bridge (ie, would the brace try to close the gap), and what happens to the bridge whilst the teeth are moving? ( will it 'ping' off?)

Ideally I would like to get an implant for the missing tooth but would like to get them straightened first.

Thanks
Sarah
