Went to see my consultant regarding my planned breast surgery and he happened to advise that after the surgery I should avoid any major dental work. He explained that although there has been no proven link it could cause an infection in the wounds.
I'm due to undergo some small amount of gum contouring over one tooth -would this be classed as major dental work?

I did ask the surgeon what he classed as major dental work and he said extractions and fillings.

Not knowing my dentist that well and the surgery is very personal to me this isn't something I would be comfortable asking anyway!
