I had a consultation with a cosmetic dentist the other day and he said I need to have orthognathic surgery because I have proclined upper and lower incisors and a tongue thrust. He said he'd arrange for me to see a specialist dentist and said everything would be explained to me then. I've been reading about the surgery on the internet and sounds very complicated and the whole treatment takes a number of months.

I've been quoted £250 for the consultion and I'm prepared to pay it because I really really need to get my teeth sorted out. I wanted to ask if anyone's got an idea of roughly how much the surgery teatment costs? I also read somewhere that you have to keep going for regular appointments before and after the actual surgery - will I have to pay each time I do so or is the cost for the in between appointments included in the whole treatment price?
