i am not sure without seeing your exact situation, but the braces are usually used before surgery and then depending on its success after surgery for minor corrections. it would be best to get an opinion from a specialist orthodontist who can work up your case with an OMFS. they would be able to advise you more accuratley about this as it is very specialised treatment with some significant risks.
