Will The NHS Give Me The Orthodontic Help I Need?

Q.
Hi, i am 22 years old and refused braces when i was younger. i regret it so much now. i would like something done with my 2 front teeth, as i sucked my thumb when i was little they now have a big gap in between them and also stick out. is there any options for me? maybe a retainer on the nhs? im on a seriously low income with a young child and cant afford private treatment, i would do anything to be able to smile again, i have lost all confidence and will not smile in photos because of this. Thanks. Looking froward to your answer.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write in with your question. Orthodontic correction is what you would need, in the form of braces that only focus on the front teeth. Unfortunately though you will not be able to have the treatment on the NHS as this considered cosmetic. The other option that you can take is to have finance which allows to spread the cost from 1 to 5 years. If you look for a cosmetic dentist in your area then you will be able to speak to them about their individual pricing plans.
