will my teeth stop growing after 34 yrs old???

Q.
will my teeth stop growing after 34 yrs old???
A.
Dear Enquirer,
Once your adult teeth have erupted and your bones have finished growing, your teeth stop growing. This process should have finished by the time you’re 18 years old if your wisdom teeth have come through at the correct time.

If you have lost a tooth, you can experience a illusion of the tooth growing out of the gum. This is due to the gum tissue shrinking and is more obvious when a tooth no longer has contact with a upper or lower tooth.
If you lose a couple of lower back teeth, then the upper back teeth can over erupt and it may feel like it’s growing. You may notice, in this case that the tooth becomes sensitive as the gum is no longer covering part of the root surface as the tooth has ‘grown’ down.
So no need to worry, your teeth have definitely stopped growing unless you have wisdom teeth in the jaw bone that have decided to erupt at a late stage.

Sunita

Hi, I’m 26 years old but still have a milk incisor tooth. I should have removed it earlier before the adult tooth grew behind it but I was particular about how I’ll look plus I assumed it will fall off and the adult tooth will grow in its place like the other side did, but now I’m left with an adult distorted tooth behind it and a hole bwtween the two trapping food and causing pain sometimes. I’m worried! Should I remove the milk tooth? Is there any chance the adult tooth can still shift back into its normal position. I don’t want to be left with an awkward smile and funny dentiton.
