Will invisible braces hurt when they are put on, and for how long would I need to wear them?

Q.
Hi, I want to get the ivisible braces, but will it hurt when they will be put on for the first time?? And also for how long do I have to wear them for?
A.
Dear Enquirer,
There are a few types of invisible braces.
1. Lingual braces that are truly invisible braces placed on the inside surface of your teeth. They are a type of fixed brace.
2. Invisalign aligners are removable and are almost invisible. Treatment times are much longer than with fixed braces.
3. Cosmetic ceramic braces. These are fixed braces which are fitted on the outside surface of your teeth but unlike the metal train tracks, the brackets that fit on your teeth are tooth coloured.

Wear times vary from 3 months for very simple adjustments to 2 years, for more complicated situations.
None of the treatments should hurt at all when fitting, but may feel a bit tender for the first few days after fitting the braces.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Sunita
