Will I need root canal treatment before my broken crown is replaced?

Q.
I have a front crown that has broken off and assume I will need a post for it to be replaced. Will I need root canal surgery before the post can be put in place.
A.
Usually a root canal treatment is required before a post can be placed, unless of course the tooth has already had this treatment. Sometimes the tooth can break such that it renders the root as useless for supporting a post and crown. I’d advise you have an Endodontist (root canal specialist) carry out the root canal procedure for you to get the best result. Good luck with the treatment

No, only root canal the ones that need it as root canal does not have a 100% success rate

I have a problem with root canal work done some years ago elsewhere. Itstaken me a long time to make a decision about what to do because of the cost. I have decided to have a consultation with the dentist in Oakengates. What do I need to do next?
