Will I have temporary teeth after my dental implant treatment?

Q.
I am considering implants – I have been advised that one cannot always have temporary dentures whilst awaiting the fixed permanent teeth. As the implants (5) are for replacement of front teeth in the upper jaw this is obviously not something that I could consider.

Is this the case as to go without any front teeth for 6 weeks is not an option! I am hoping that this is just the implantologist being particulary cautionary. He has indicated that they will do their very best but is unable to guarantee until after the surgery. I have accepted 10 days without teeth to allow for healing to be maximised but 45 days is definitely out of the question.

The way that your teeth line up to “bite” and the strength in your case will affect the decision . Also the type of gum ( thick and bouncy vs thin and fragile )
The treatment planning can sometimes avoid problems by sequencing or using temporary fixings to avoid presuure on the healing site.
I would be happy to provide a free consultation to assess the likely options in your case.
