Wil NHS fund my implant and braces treatment?

Q. Im a 21 year old male student, from the age of 12 i have had a crown on one of my top front teeth. Having had many problems from a young age with excesses operations performed by dental students within the london hospital (some leading to complications). Due to this when having my last crown fitted at hte age of 15 i asked to be sedated, when awake i was quickly rushed out with out seeing my smile.. my current crown it is out of line and cuts my mouth regularly when sleeping. It doesn’t meet my gums and leads my mouth to bleed, the back to the crown doesn’t touch my gums (to the point i can get my tong into the gap) my current dentist has confirmed i don’t have a gum infection, more the crown is causing the problems. i have been recommended to look for a implant and braces. Due to the complications and past problems with all past work being undertaken with the NHS i was wondering if there would be any way the NHS would partly fund the work.. also how long would the work take? and a average cost?,
A. I doubt you will get implant dentistry on the NHS, however you could try to ask your dentist to refer you back the The London. As  past patient they may be able to do something for you

Sarah Pelham Says :

My name is Sarah Pelham, I’m 24 years old and from the U.K.
I really don’t know where else to turn to. I was recently proposed to by my fiancee and was really tempted to say no because of my teeth. They’ve been so bad for years but I had such a phobia of the dentist when I was younger, I’d refuse to go and get treated. I had to go to an emergency dentist recently to have a tooth extracted and anti-biotics because I left my abcess causing me agony because I couldn’t get past my fears. Now I’m stuck with over-crowded,decaying horrible teeth. I just couldn’t get married with my teeth this way, not being able to smile in my own wedding photo.I was told braces would be anywhere from £1500-£3000. It’s just something I can’t afford when I’m working minimum hours because of my depression and anxiety. I hardly ever smile, in any photo’s I’ve had done I don’t show my teeth ever. It’s getting me so down and I’ve been suicidal over them before, also been close to pulling them all out myself. I’ve removed 2 of my own teeth when I was 12 because I thought it would help them be less overcrowded. I’ve sent numerous pictures of my teeth to dentistrys everywhere and the only option they provide is metal braces for 18 months for a huge fee.

I’m an 18 year student who comes from a house that earns way less than £20,00 a year and i really need braces. I’ve been to scared to put on braces my whole life but it’s gotten to a point now that i’ve become extremely self conscious that i dislike going out. I was wondering if there is any way i could get invisible braces for free? If yes please can you give me the full advice i need to get it, and if no can you please advice me on to whom to contact (preferably the cheapest place to get it done). Thank you

Hi Unfortunately invisable braces can not be done for free because the lab costs are high. When looking for any type of brace, it is important to look for an experienced dentist to give you the best results. Like many things in life , cheap is not always the best. Good luck.

I think I need braces, but my dentist says I don’t, so do you want to, you know, give them to me for free?Like, a family deposit? Thanks 🙂 Also, this message needs to be 400 letters long so I am now going to do random letters. Thanks,
