Why Are My Teeth Painful After Having a Bridge Fitted?
Q.
I have had a 4 tooth bridge fixed over 2 teeth at the back of my lower jaw. I have 1 tooth at the back, then a gap, another tooth and another gap then my front lower teeth. Since I have had this procedure I am unable to drink hot or cold liquids and chewing is almost impossible because of the pain in the 2 teeth. Could you please explain this? I have been told now that I need root canal work done. These teeth were no problem before, so why are they now?

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. It sounds like the nerve under the bridge teeth are inflammed. Root canal treatment tends to be the only way to sort this problem out. Kind regards, Andrew.
