Why Am I Still in Pain After Having a Tooth Removed?

I had my double tooth took out as it split in half. It had a root canal filling in it. the dentist removed that as well. This was 3 weeks ago. I am in terrible pain, so went back to the dentist. They said I had an infection. and put me on antibiotics for 5 days. I am still in agony all around that gum area. I can only eat on one side. I still get a lot of pain round that area. All round there is very sensitive. What should I do?

Hi, thank you for getting in touch and I’m sorry about your discomfort. It might need cleaning out and re-dressing. Maybe go back to see if your dentist can refer you to an oral surgery specialist. Kind regards, Andrew.
