Why am I getting pain in jaw so badly?

Q. Hello, I have had a recurring problem with my jaw over the past few years which presents itself as an inability to open my mouth very wide with some pain, with the stiffness and pain located in the top-left jaw joint. It happens very sporadically with months between attacks and no obvious cause beforehand. For some reason it has suddenly occurred but worse than usual, much worse. The left jaw joint is so painful if I try to open my mouth or even swallow, that I cannot eat anything requiring chewing because it is excruciatingly painful. Also, I cannot open my jaw very wide, as has happened before. What is new is the degree of pain when trying, it feels like I have suffered a blow to that area – a hard one! So far I have not sought treatment, nor ever had a dentist comment on anything being wrong with my bite or jaw alignment. What might be wrong and what’s the correct course to take? Thank you.,
A. It is difficult for me to give you guidance on your jaw matter without seeing you in person and perhaps performing a few tests.I would be more than happy to see you regarding this.Justin glaisterwww.umbrellasmiles.com
