What would be the best way to fill in a gap between my teeth?
Q.
I currently have a gap, top set, 5th from the front. I no longer want the gap as it’s effecting my confidence making me conscious when I smile. I have looked into having a bridge but didn’t know if I can if the teeth either side of the gap have fillings in and if not what are my options? I have had the gap for over 6 months. Also other than brushing, flossing, mouth wash, avoiding sugary foods as much as possible what else can I do to care for my teeth as they seem to be made of chalk and crumble!

Hi and thanks for your questions.
Hi and thanks for your questions.
A bridge may be an option but a dental implant replacement for your missing tooth is likely to be much better. A dental implant solution does not usually rely on the teeth either side of your gap to replace the missing tooth. The alternative, a bridge, can often be done using teeth that have had fillings previously so I don’t think that would be a problem either.
I would be able to give you a much more accurate assessment if I could have the opportunity to examine you and your teeth and gums properly. Please try to arrange to come and see myself , or another experienced cosmetic dentist as soon as you can for some advice.
Hope that helps
Best wishes
Mark
