What treatment can I have for crack in root canal?

Q. I was having pain in my only tooth with a root canal and a crown, had it xrayed by my dentist and was told I had a crack through the root canal tooth and would need it removed and a bridge applied, what would happen if I did nothing with this tooth, I have always favored it, and it doesn’t seem to bother me too much now (only with a sinus infection I had). Thank you,
A. If it is cracked then if you leave it you will get an infection which will cause you much pain and then you will need it removed anyhow. Unfortuanelty it sounds like the only option.Justin Glaister

Thanks for your reply re: my cracked root canal tooth. I did have it removed, but now am hesitant to have a bridge put in. It is the second from the last upper tooth, and I am wondering if it is possible to leave the empty space? Pamela Bogan
