What procedures are available to repair or cover filled teeth or replace them?

Q.
Hi there,

I am 26 years of age and I have thought about getting porcelain veneers for my 8 smile teeth. I also have quite weak teeth and most are heavily filled. I am getting fed up having to have my teeth re-filled on a seemingly continual basis. I wanted some advice on what procedures are available to repair or cover filled teeth or replace them. I understand that I will loose the sensation in my teeth if I under go cosmetic work on them but that really doesn’t concern me. Thanks very much for any advice that you can give me. An Idea of costs involved for the various procedures available would also greatly help.

Hi.
Porcelain veneers are one way of improving the cosmetics of heavily filled front teeth. It may also be possible to carry our tooth whitening and composite veneers (using white fillings) or a combination of all these treatments. If the existing fillings are very deep into the tooth then sometimes it may be necessary to carry out root canal treatment before placing cosmetic veneers or crowns. You would need a cosmetic assessment in order to determine what treatment and associated costs would be most appropriate for you.
Thank you for your enquiry.
