What is the difference between porcelain onlays and veneers for teeth?

Q.
Hi Dr Kaplan,
I was just wondering what the difference was between porcelain veneers and porcelain onlays for front teeth, and whether there is an advantage in one over the other, or a difference in cost.
Cheers,
A.
Onlays are for restoring the biting surfaces of back teeth and veneers are for the front surfaces of front teeth
