What does a smile say about you

Q. Hello. I’m a student journalist and I would like you to answer a few questions. What does a smile say about you, intentionally or not? How do you “read” another person’s smile? Why is the smile an important communication tool and how can good oral health improve our sense of well-being?

A. hi
obviously we could go into some depth here but in this forum i will give initial thoughts.
a smile will portray health and beauty mainly but also an indication of lifestyle.
what you read from a smile initially will be very generalised - black missing teeth =unaesthetic/unhealthy, how these represent on the person i.e on a person who looks generally unwell it will give a bad impression .
on a good looking face that smiles and shows 1 missing tooth it will take something away.
it is widely accepted that a white , full  smile in golden proportion will infer healt, beauty and confidence
which in turn affects general health and well-being . hope this helps
