What Can I Do To Prevent The Cavity On My Front Tooth From Getting Any Larger?

Q.
Hi, I’m hoping you can help me with something please! I’m a 22 year old female and I have developed a cavity on my front right tooth that is now spreading to the other front tooth. It is quite deep now and is now turning very sensitive . What could I do to prevent cavities? I tend to drink a lot of tea with three sugars in, so I know that doesn’t help! Also, If i have these filled will the cavity continue to get bigger/worse? And will the filling I get match the surrounding tooth colour correctly? I don’t want it to look any different from the rest of my teeth. I hope you can help me on this. Thank you for your time.

Hello, thank you for your question. Firstly, you need to cut down on sugary drinks, especially how often you have them, reducing the amount of sugar from 3 to 1 tsp won’t make any difference so reduce how often you eat sugar either as a drink or food. The cavity should then stop growing once filled. I hope this helps.
