What can I do about my slanted jaw?

Q.
When I was seventeen I saw a braces doctor and was told I could not get braces until I went to the dental hospital. I was told this was because I had a slanted jaw and the braces doctor would not be able to just proceed without fixing this. I’ve now been waiting for very long to get this done and I’m now nineteen. I told the surgery about this but no reply. Another braces doctor had a look and said I had no problems with my bite and thaat I would need to pay for braces even though I was seen at 17. He said he would refer me to another dental hospital. I can see the jaw is slanted and don’t really understand why they are saying it isn’t?

Thank you very much for your question. Unfortunately it would not be professional of me to try and answer your dental problem based on the information contained in this email. I would suggest you go back to your dentist to discuss the issue once more. I wish you luck in getting your issues sorted out.

Hi I’ve the exact same problem but it’s only that I went to the hospital and said I couldn’t get braces done if I don’t do the jaw surgery because even if I’ve the braces done my smile would look crooked due to the slanted jaws which would not show my full teeth. However, it was going to be a very big surgery and my mom would not let me go for it. The doctors might say tht it is not a problem as it is a very big surgery that requires opening up your face cutting your jaws or maybe they did not get a x ray done?
