What are the other replacement for dentures does NHS support them?

Q. Current state of teeth is poor with many missing teeth. My NHS dentist offered me only the option of dentures. Those provided so far do not fit in any way and came with teeth missing, added in by the local surgery. They do not just affect my speech, they make it entirely impossible to speak. They do not remain in place and the top set doesn’t fit to the palate. It seems impossible to find information about the treatment available on NHS, for example I have one canine and one incisor missing and 3 premolars – can any of these be replaced other than by a denture? Also the existing incisors have black hardened cavaties at the top which are being white filled at a cost of £35 per tooth – can these not be done on NHS?

A. Hi

NHS dentistry provides a core service. Cosmetic work is usually not carried out on the NHS , and therfore patient have to seek private dentistry.
