What are dental implants made from?
Q. Hi Dr Bohara , im currently learning about dental biomaterials. Which materials (including metal and ceramic) are used for dental implants? Also why do the implants come in different diameters and lengths? And why would implant failure occur? Many Thanks!!,
A. Dental implants are made from titanium. – implants come in different sizes because the bone where the implant is placed, have different length and widths. -there are many reasons why an implant could fail – the patient not having adequate oral hygiene, overloading, peri-implantitis,etc
