There’s a dark line showing on the gum line, does this mean my crown needs replacing?

Q.
Hi, can a cerec job be done on worn crown to restore the layer. or do a veneer or cosmetic bonding? or have to redo the crown? How long does a cerec crown last, 10-15 years? and how much does it cost? what is the main difference between cerec and veneer beside 1 sitting done?My crown look faky and there are dark line on the gum edge. It is metal fused. Pls be specific and detail cause i need more advise to make a real decision on my teeth, thank you

Thanks for your enquiry and questions

Usually it’s best to replace the whole crown, especially on a back tooth due to the potential forces invoved in the bite trying to dislodge the porcelin veneer. Often when a crown is work then space has been lost to allow a replacement of the porcelain and so once again the whole crown might have to be redone.

In order to give you really accurate answers to your questions and to assess your suitability for any of the procedures and to cost up these procedures it would be best if you could come for a consultation. It’s impossible to be specific without seeing you in person as there are so many variables to consider.

Kind regards

Mark
