The veneer on my two front teeth came off

Q. Hello. I need some advice regarding a chipped front tooth on the right side. I chipped it some time ago and i went to see my dentist and he said he could fit a veneer for me. He fitted one on the chipped tooth and one on another front tooth because another overlaps it and he said he wanted to make them look at lot straighter. The veneers came off about a week later because he said the two front teeth are not the same size as each other and overlap. One of them keeps pushing the veneer off the fron tooth and he said it is major works and i should ask him about that later because he is not sure what to do. I am really depressed about it and i hate my image because of it. Could you give me some advice about what could be done. I am also a single mum who relys on NHS dental care so what else will they offer apart fronm veneers. Thanks

A. Hi
this is difficult to answer as he did you a favour by doing the veneers but should have warned you as to the possible risks.
you might have to consider a crown but obviously this involves more drilling of the teeth and more potential risk to the nerve.
the nhs does not cover cosmetic work and should not have been the reason for the treatment in the first place
