The Gap In My Smile Is Starting To Mess With My Confidence. Would Cosmetic Bonding Be Available Through The NHS As I’m Under 18?

Q.
Hello, I’m under 18 years old and have a gap between my teeth and Its really starting to mess with confidence. I’ve had it since I lost my baby teeth, it’s not very big, only about a quarter of a centimetre but to me it’s a lot. My dentist tells me I don’t need braces but the two teeth next to my front top teeth aren’t straight. But anyway I’m not bothered about those it’s just my gap. I have very thin teeth as it is so I was wondering if tooth bonding would be free on the NHS as I’m 14?
A.
Hello and thank you for your enquiry. Cosmetic treatments are not available on the NHS as far as I know but I cannot advise you as my practice is limited to private only. If is not possible through the NHS, find a practice locally to you, with a great deal of experience in cosmetic bonding. Most dental websites have a price list so the only advice I would give is to save up until you can afford it. I hope this helps, more information is available through this website. Regards, Mark.
