The dentist said I would need to wait until I am 16 for a crown. What can be done in the meantime?

im 13 years old and befor i had a fall and half of my tooth broke off, i went to the dentist and they said they my nerve dies so now its a dark shade on my fornt tooth and they said i have to wait till im 16 to have a crown put in what should i do to improve the coloure of my tooth? thanks
