The composite filling have started to chip at the sides is it like to solve this problem

Q. Hello. I have recently had somem composite fillings to fill the gap between my incisor and canine. The fillings have started to chip at the sides and near my gum. Can anything else be done for these fillings to be a sucess as I am really happy with the way they look, but not it they are going to keep chipping! I think that my bottom canine may be hitting the fillings when I eat – can this be shaved down? And is this likely to solve the problem? Thank you for your time,

A. It sounds as though you  may have a bite that is putting too much pressure on your new fillings.  Sometimes a bite adjustment can make the difference or a night guard to protect your teeth at night time.  Hope this helps.
