Teeth extracted for infection
Q. Hi there- I had 2 teeth extracted today. I went in expecting to be prescribed antibiotics to get rid of the infection I have(which is causing my face to swell!) and he went ahead and extracted them. One of which was VERY painful. I was not prescribed any pain medication or antibiotics to take care of the infection. Should I see a 2nd dr?
A. Infstion is caused by the teeth. Once they are removed the infection usually goes away. If you are fit and healthy you do not usually need antibiotics. Over the counter pain killers are usualy sufficient for pain control
