I have very bad teeth as a result of having mumps when I was younger, can I get them whitened?

Hello, when i was young i had mumps which lead to my teeth not developing correctly, as a result i have horrible patchy yellow-ish marks on my teeth and they are generally in bad condition, i find that my gums often bleed and even eating some foods make my teeth feel as if they are just going to break off. Obviously i want to get them whitened and was wondering how much this would cost? Any other tips would be helpful because i REALLY do not want to have my teeth falling out before i even get to university in september. xx,

My crowned teeth have started to change to a bad yellow colour. Can you advise me on the best option to fix this?

Hi Doctor. Last Nov 2010 my front upper 4 tooths has been crowned with resin/plastic. As i noticed initial 6 months there is no color change but for last three month its started changing its color to off-white & now turning to bad yellowish. Its looks so horrible. 1. Now advise me, is there any procedure to clean & back to normal color or i have to again go for a new crown. 2. Also Plz suggest the name of best crown & which will not change its color & run long life. I would appreciate if u answer in detail. Thanks,

Daughter’s teeth are yellow and dentist says she could undergo teeth whitening, but can she?

Hi. My 13yr old daughter has always had very yellow, badly ‘stained’ looking 2nd teeth (especially 1 at the front). My dentist informs me that she COULD undergo some degree of whitening at this age.She is so self-conscious of them that she only smiles with closed mouth. I’d be grateful if you could give me any info about proceedures,costs etc. My budget it very limited – she has been living in Johannesburg for the last 5 yrs, and she only comes back occassionally -all my money goes on this. My teeth have got very yellow and no matter how much i clean them it makes no difference. Also i have a couple of crowns and a couple of bridges (not too professional loooking). HI, I am unhappy with the colour of my teeth and so as a result my confidence is affected. i am 20 and student currently. My parents have offered to pay for my 21st birthday present. My teeth are ok however they are yellow and everything i have tried has not work. the dentist i use says that whitening would not do anything however i desperatley want to change them. Dear Dr Kailesh Solanki, I had my teeth whitened last week using the Enlighten system. After the treatment my teeth looked really white and I was really pleased with the result. Anyway a week on, my teeth are yellow again. They are almost back to the same shade as before I had the treatment done. I am feeling very disheartened. I am wondering if there is any reason why they are returning to the original shade when I have been looking after my teeth and using the home care kit? Kind Regards,
