“Hello, I recently went to the dentist when my bridge became loose, and was told that one of the teeth under my existing brige needs to be pulled due to a cavity that was in my back wisdom tooth, the dentist filled the cavity and prepared the wisdom tooth for the anchor of my bridge, and proceeded to replace the old bridge with a temp in the inturum, I have major pain on the side of my gum the dentist told me that the gum was irritated (ulcer)from the temp bridge , the pain can get quite bad , I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help the irritation heal quicker..I am rinsing with antibiotic and taking something for the pain helps for alittle while but the pain returns”,

Hello, I have had really straight teeth my entire life, up until the past year I have noticed my teeth dramatically moving. My right front tooth on top is twisting and turning out. The bottom two teeth are turning into each other. I am 22 years old. I have not had my wisdoms taken out. I was wondering if they are the culprit, and if that is right when I have them removed will my teeth go back in place?,

hi, I have four wisdom teeth that have come through over a process of about 8 months. all the teeth are healthy. the bottom two “just fit in” however the top two are more of a problem. both are sticking out of the row, meaning they are leaning towards my cheeks. The right one in particular is sticking out a lot and is causing a fair bit of friction against my cheek. The gums are swollen and tender. i know my teeth are overcrowded now (before i had perfect teeth). my question is this: I have been away from Australia (my home) for over a year. I have two months left before i fly home. in these two months i will be in india – without decent medical assistance at hand. is it dangerous to leave my teeth like this for 2 months? can alot happen with the movement of my teeth in just two months? thanks,p.s also if i have a cavity in any of my teeth, can alot of decay occur in two months?,

Hello there, I had fixed braces from age 13-16 and have since worn a retainer one night per week. I am now 20 and upon noticing 2 of my front teeth were becoming slightly crooked in a short period of time i visited my dentist to ask what it could be. After taking a xray she showed me that my wisdom teeth are coming through and are applying pressure to my other teeth causing them to move. She suggested i increase the wear of my retainer to every night, however i believe my teeth are still moving.Would it be possible to undergo removal although the wisdom teeth are causing me no other problems as i am financially unable to have orthadontist treatment for a second time as i am a student. I am aware of all possible side affects etc. I’d be very grateful for any advice.

Hi, I have had problems with my bottom right wisdom tooth since around June 2008, I went to my dentist and she said that they were just starting to come through and took x-rays which were “fine”. However in January 2009 I went back to her as they were causing me discomfort but were being relieved by pain killers, she took my over bite measurement and told me that they didn’t like to remove wisdom teeth and that I had to just wait for them to come through. After experiencing discomfort for a few months I just took the dentists advice and have been waiting for them to come through. However in May 2009 I suffered the most excruciating pain and had to go to the emergency dentist who informed me that I had an infection and that there was no room for the tooth to come through, he prescribed me amoxicillin and told me to see my dentist about getting it removed. On the same day I had to go to accident and emergency as the pain was still excruciating and they gave me Codine Phospahte and stronger strength paracetemol. I went back to my own dentist a week later and she told me that it needed to come out and prescribed me Metronidazole, took x-rays which are being sent to a surgeon. My problem is that with the bottom right wisdom tooth coming through it has moved my bottom front teeth out of place and x-rays indicate that I have another wisdom tooth ready to come through on the other side, would it be necessary for them both to be removed? And would I be eligible to have the NHS pay for braces to be fitted as from the x-rays the dentist surely must have seen that there would not be enough room for the wisdom teeth to come through? Thank you for any help and advice you may be able to give.

Doctor, my 26 year old daughter has a couple of wisdom teeth growing out crooked, but there is no problem yet, except slight soreness every few months. My questions are: 1) Would you advise these to be removed at the earliest, or to wait and see if they actually give more trouble? 2) Should all wisdom teeth be removed in any case, whether they give much trouble or not? I went to my dentist (NHS)for the second time re. my wisdom tooth. I was given antibiotics and she drained some of the infection. I asked to be referred to a specialist for extracion. This takes up to 6 months. I hate taking antibiotics and would rather have the tooth out asap. Can this process happen quicker i.e through private practice? What is the wait for an operation when going private and where could i go? I don’t understand why she seems reluctant to refer me and get it treated properly. I live in London. Best Wishes

My daughter is having two wisdom teeth pulled and they have told her she may need alveoplasty and it is not covered by insurance. She will never put dentures where the wisdom teeth were so why would it be neccessary?

Hi there i have a question for you i have a impacted wisdom tooth its my lower right side my dentist told me i could take it out whenever i want and its not a big deal, well my question is can that wisdom tooth cause my second molar to start raising up and make a couple of my bottom teeth crooked? because that is happening but like i said he said it wasnt a big deal!? can you please help me? thanks
