Spots along my gum are really starting to hurt and even peel. What’s the cause and is it common?

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi, so I have a question regarding my gums. The gum spots where I had my wisdom teeth removed a long while back are really hurting. I noticed they are raw where they started peeling a little, and its really a pain to chew food now. My co-worker said she has had a similar issue. What could be the cause of this? Is this a common thing, or do I need to be concerned?,

I’m experiencing a lot of pain since the extraction of my wisdom tooth, is this normal?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had my lower right wisdom tooth extracted in hospital 4 days ago under local. It was very traumatic, and now I am getting a constant throbbing pain all along my jaw line, right up to the socket of my jaw near my ear. I am taking normal paracetemol as well as Ibuprofen but the constant throbbing and aching is starting to take its toll. I’ve done exactly as asked, Corsodyl mouth washes, salt water washes, brushing teeeth after every meal (soup and yoghurt and mashed potato). Is it normal for there to be so much aching and throbbing? My other teeth next to the one which was removed are also feeling “on edge” and sensitive. There is also a foul taste in my mouth despite my regular teeth brushing and mouth washing so am worried I may have dry socket.,

Should I have under-the-gum wisdom tooth treatment?

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010
Q.
Hi Mr. Safeer Butt! I have one wisdom tooth that just broke through the gum, and all the others are non-impacted so far. However, my dentist recommended I get an under-the-gum wisdom tooth that looks like it will be crooked later, pulled, with my other ones too in case. What do you guys think of this? Thanks in advance!,

Would removing all of my wisdom teeth reduce my overbite?

Monday, June 7th, 2010
Q.
I am 26 and have always had a slight over bite but not serious. However after getting my wisdom teeth through my overbite is much more noticable. My dentist refered me to have all my wisdom teeth extracted as they were so far back that keeping them clean was a nightmare. The consultant decided to only remove one tooth in the end. What I am wondering is whether removing all the wisdom teeth would help reduce the overbite?,

Thursday, April 15th, 2010
Q.
My daughter has been told she needs all four wisdom teeth removed, two of which are apparently impacted. Her dentist has said she can have them out in the practice but she really cannot stomach the thought of one being pulled out let alone four!! Several years ago i had all four of mine removed in hospital in one hit could she have the same?,

Would veneers be a solution to my teeth problem?

Thursday, April 8th, 2010
Q.
Hi, i’m 30 years old and i’ve always had really straight teeth but since my lower wisdom teeth have come through they have pushed the 4 bottom front teeth and one tooth has caved and is squashed by the teeth either side. It’s bothering me a lot and i was wondering what you would suggest having done? Would veneers be a solution? Many thanks.,
