I Have A Crooked Front Tooth And I’d Like To Know What The Best Treatment Would Be In Terms Of Cost And Longevity?

Thursday, April 17th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I am 39 years old and I have crooked front tooth which I believe has become more prominent over the last few years. Sometimes it’s feels a little uncomfortable. I asked my own dentist about options privately though as they are the NHS were very dismissive of my concerns. I have read about a few options however which would be a better option given age, longevity of the treatment and cost?

Your advice and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Is There Any Way I Can Fix My Broken Teeth On A Budget? I Want To Be Confident.

Thursday, April 10th, 2014
Q.

Hello Andrew, I’m 20 years old and have awful teeth. They are broken, chipped badly and I have teeth missing I am really self concious about smiling, laughing and it’s really affecting my social life as I don’t like to leave the house. I am also on a budget as I have 2 young children. I really want my teeth sorting out so I can gain the self esteem and confidence a young 20 year old should have. Is there anything you can possibly suggest for me? Thank you, your advice would really be helping me out.

I Have Porcelain Crowns And Veneers. I Would Like To Know If It’s Possible To Have Lingual Braces?

Friday, March 28th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I would like to know if it possible for me to have lingual braces? I have porcelain crowns with metal posts on my two front teeth and veneers on the two teeth either side.
I have a small upper arch and originally my upper front teeth were overlapped before they were replaced with crowns and posts. I have always wanted to have my teeth straightened but was put off by a dentist who did not want to offer me braces. I have since read on the internet that it is possible to have lingual braces on crowned teeth. I would like some advice on this if it’s possible. Thank you for your time.

My Front Teeth Are Bent And Discoloured And This Makes Me Paranoid. Could You Give Me An Estimate For Veneers?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. I have just been on your website and I am really interested. I was looking at having a full set of veneers or new teeth done as when I was younger I had a accident and I’m really not happy with them. My front teeth are bent and discoloured and this makes me really paranoid. I just want a new set of nice teeth and I was just wondering if I could have a estimated price as a guide to look for? If you could get back to me ASAP that would be great. If there’s any other type of treatment you think might help me, it would be great if you could give me some info on that also. Thank you for your time.

I Have A Gap That Looks Like A Black Triangle Between My Teeth. Is It Best To Use Veneers?

Monday, March 24th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Patel. How do I remove a 1 millimetre gap between my front two teeth? The gap appears to be in an inverted v (^) shape. All the other teeth are normal and are in sufficient size and I am not missing any other teeth. There is no problem with the size of my other teeth. What will be the cost of treatment? Is it is best to use veneers? Please advise me. How can I have veneers without disturbing the normal healthy tooth structure? Is there any other treatment I could consider for this? I look forward to hearing your reply. Thank you for your time.

My Canines Are Too Big. I Don’t Feel Comfortable Laughing Or Smiling. Is There A Cheaper Alternative To Braces Which Could Help Me?

Friday, March 21st, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore, hopefully you can help me. I have two big teeth (my canines). It makes me feel very uncomfortable to laugh and grin when taking photos. Can they be made smaller? If so, what is the name of the procedure and how much will it cost? Also because my canines are so big, my lateral incisors are very small. Can they be made bigger? So overall I have a nicer smile? I don’t want to wear braces so I’m asking you if there is a different and cheaper alternative?

What Would Be The Best Type Of Treatment To Close My Gaps? I Fear That My Teeth Will Continue To Shift If I Don’t Do Something About It?

Tuesday, March 4th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. My lower incisors have a 1-2mm gap between each one. The teeth are in good condition, not crooked, none missing and no chips. What would be the best type of treatment to close the gaps?
The gaps have become more and more noticeable over the year and I fear that the teeth will continue the shift if I don’t do something about it.
I have read about Invisalign and was wondering if I would be a suitable candidate? I would like to know how long it takes to work and if they need adjusting over time. I look forward to receiving your advice with regards to this.

What Are My Options When It Comes To Closing The Gaps In My Teeth?

Thursday, February 27th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I just wanted to ask a question regarding the gaps between my teeth. My 4 front teeth on the top of my mouth seem way too small for my jaw and therefore there are gaps in between each tooth, which are very dominant. My 4 front teeth on my bottom row also seem to have minor gaps in between them. They’ve been like this ever since I was young, I am now 20 years old. I was just wondering what my options are when it comes to getting these gaps closed?

Thank you.

I Have Yellow Teeth From Childhood Antibiotics. Would Whitening Work To Get Rid Of This?

Wednesday, February 19th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I have always had yellow teeth from the moment they come through the gums, some dentist said it was down to a certain anti- biotic. If I tried to have them whitened, would it work or would I be wasting my money? Apart from the yellow problem my teeth don’t look too bad, so what would you recommend? It’s been an embarrassment to me all my life. When I was a child my teacher used to ask me if I’d cleaned my teeth, which gave me a complex at such a young age. I am 44 now and I still don’t smile with my mouth open. I look forward to any advice you can give. Thank you.

My Old Bridge Fell Off After Root Canal Work. Should I Get A Different Bridge, Like My Dentist Recommends?

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014
Q.

My 20+ year old bridge has fallen off, 2 months after having a root canal work done through the bridge into one of the supporting teeth. The other supporting tooth is now damaged. I would like to have another bridge rather than a denture, but the gap is now three teeth wide, rather than the one it was before. The two teeth either side are sound. The gap is upper front 1 left, and 1/2 right. My dentist says that a different bridge might work – one that is glued to the back of the supporting teeth, but he says that this often fails – is this right?
