Need upper denture

Q. I am in need of an upper denture. I have had dentures since I was 13; now I am 65. I have been reading about Valplast Flexible Dentures. Can I ask for that for my full dentures and what are de pros and cons?,

A. Valplast flexible property can help to lock into undercuts around remaining teeth but will have limited benefits for full dentures

Can I get dentures in hospital on the NHS?

Q. My teeth are either broken rotten or falling out i am unable to eat or chew properly and am often in pain especially in the night so am not sleeping.Can i get my all my teeth removed and dentures in hospital on the nhs as i cant afford to go private

A. Most Teaching ( Dental ) Hospitals will provide this service if you agre to be treated by students. They often have a walk in ”emergency service” where you can start the process of getting into the system.

I am assuming that my implants for full dentures causing neck pain.

Q. I had mini implants for full dentures in August but have been experiencing severe pain in my neck head & ears for several weeks. Could this be caused by the implants?

A. It is unlikely it is coming form the implants but may be muscle spasm that could be due to how the dentures bite together. Obviously please see your implant dentist asap

Can dentures stay fixed as I heard it may move around?

Q. Hi my question is I’ve been thinking about getting dentures because I’m sick of the toothache I get, how can I be sure that they are ok and will stay put, I’m afraid that the dentures will move around and hurt

A. You need to discuss this with the dentist doing the treatment as some people do experience difficulty getting used to dentures.Rob

My dentures goes too far and trying to file it please suggest.

Q. I have dentures.soft reline now…but need hard reline,no insurance..my ? is my top plate goes too far back and it makes me gag..what kind of file can i use to take off some in the back,so i dont gag..i don want to dammage my dentures….

A. Take it to a dentist to adjust it for you. its much easier

Trying to find someone to pull all my teeth and get dentures.

Im tired of all the pain in my teeth so im looking into getting all my teeth pulled and dentures put in..the way i look at it is their my teeth so its my choice to get them pulled and dentures put in. im not interested in trying to save my teeth…im ready for dentures…who do i contact to get all my teeth pulled and dentures threw the same dr that pulles them??? i live in sarcoxie mo im trying to find someone local but i dont know who to call or what their job title is. if u could help that would be great thank you!!!

A. Extracting teeth is definitely the work of a dentist but almost all would direct a team member (often offsite) to make the teeth.Rob

Dentures feels depressive is implants done on NHS?

Hi I recently visited the dentist after years of not going and was told that I would have to have most of my back teeth extracted, im only 32 and the though of having denchers depresses me some what. I recenly heard that implants are available on the nhs if you have 6 or more missing teeth, are you aware of this and would you recomend another route available on the nhs. yours sincerely

Q. I had implants 12years ago appr for 6 teeth top front about 2 years ago one side fell out since then i have had a denture which i dont like .so my top teeth are. teeth 2 implants then part denture then teeth .how can i get ridd of part denture .could a bridge go from implant to real teeth

A. We cannot splint implants to teeth as the teeth move and the implants do not. You may be able to have more implants placed

Q. Hello Doctor I have a existing upper denture with four mollars on the right side and three on the left and two front teeth,could I have the two front teeth changed to gold. Many thanks

A. In this situation – as long as the remaining teeth are healthy – I use crowns and precision attachments to hold a denture firmly in place. This produces a result that is very stable and removable. If you wish for a non-denture solution then implants are a possibility – you would probably require bone grafting to allow for there to be enough bone available for implant placement.
