Thursday, June 6th, 2013
Q.

I haven’t been happy with my teeth for years and being in the army and with operational tours its been hard to get them fixed as the army don’t fix smiles only teeth.
I have two gaps in my teeth both to the rear of my mouth I also have a squint tooth at the front Im looking to get these fixed but don’t know what or how to go about this as I’m in Afghanistan now and I’ll be here for six months and then I’ll be in the Falklands next year for 6 months, I was looking at six month smiles I was just wondering if you could give me some advice on this and what you think would be the best course of action would be?

Many thanks.

Should I Have To Pay For My New Porcelain Crowns?

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013
Q.

Is there a general period of time for which porcelain crowns are guaranteed for? This was done at a private practice. I have two crowns on my front two top teeth that were done 4 years ago by an emergency dentist in Hammersmith, London. The level of customer service there was atrocious so they knocked £600 off the £1800 bill. I am seeing the same practice again tomorrow and I’m hoping the repair/ replacement treatment will be free. The crowns they gave me are now cracking up and will not last too much longer. I am really disappointed with the level of service and standard of care I received. In your opinion, should I have to pay again for this treatment?

I Am On Benefits, Can I Receive Free Treatment?

Thursday, April 18th, 2013
Q.

Hi. I’m 45 years and haven’t seen a dentist since I was 15 years. I know I need loads of work done and I also wear a top plate but I’m claiming benefit of £71 a week and every penny is accounted for can I still receive treatment? I’m also very scared of needled and have a very low pain threshold. I know I have to see a dentist but I’m petrified. I have a tooth missing on the top, front, left hand side and broken teeth at the back, top, right. Can a dentist do anything about all those? I can’t eat anything hard because my teeth just break.

Since My Veneers Were Fitted I Have Been In Agony, Is This Normal?

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013
Q.

I have had 15 veneers 8 top and 7 bottom and have been in fairly severe pain with the bottoms from the start in each tooth and this gets worse at night when I lie down although maybe this is because of extended time without pain relief…. it has been 4 weeks since the teeth were ground down for the temps and 2 weeks since the veneers were fitted and I cannot go a day without fairly heavy pain killer doses..I did have a tooth extracted on the bottom but the pain is not in this area..thanks in advance for any advice.

Can my dental implant and crown be fitted on the same day?

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013
Q.

Hello,

I have heard of several clinics where a single dental implant including the finished crown is completed within a day by a team of dentists and technicians all at the same location. I have read your website information on dental implants and it described the work taking place over a number of visits .
in your opinion what would be the pros and cons for a suitable candidate with no prior problems?

My Jaw Is Still Swollen Following Root Canal Treatment, Is This Normal After Two Days?

Friday, March 15th, 2013
Q.

I underwent an initial root canal treatment for a lower molar on Wednesday 6th March, the dentist also discovered an abscess which he removed.

Two weeks prior to the root canal treatment he x-rayed my tooth and proceeded to fill it, he hadn’t noticed the abscess or the dead root, that sparked my curiosity somewhat and got me thinking, how easy are these to spot? I have never had an abscess before so I didn’t know what my problem was and would have expected the dentist to spot it properly. I am grateful he rectified it though. He then had to remove the new filling and start the initial root canal procedure.

However 2 days later my jaw and glands are still extremely swollen and sore, is this normal, or at least is it to be expected?

I look forward to receiving your response.

Regards.

I Am Scared Of Dentists And Haven’t Been In 24 Years, My Teeth Are Cracking Though, What Is Your Advice?

Friday, March 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi,

I’m embarrassed to have to say the following. I’m a 34yr old male who hasn’t attended a dental practise since a horrible nightmare dentist appointment when I was about 10years old. I’ve always brushed my teeth over the years and generally follow a pretty healthy diet although I do prob consume alittle more chocolate than I should at times.lol I’m not overweight or nothing though and am train at a gym regularly. A few years back while on hol my tooth cracked, I never did anything about it due to my fear. Since then I’ve had 3 teeth crack and all are at gum line. I have a 4th that is partially cracked but I’m sure this will also fall out. I’m so scared but I know enough is enough and I need to seek help. I have some loss of enamel on front teeth but no cracks or nothing. I have quite alot of tartar behind front lower teeth but not upper ones. I have some occasional pain but nothing to significant. I would like some advice in my best way fwd and if you think I’m going lose all my teeth.

How long do dental implants last?

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011
Q.

I’m 20 and got a dental implant 2weeks ago, as I’m young I’m really anxious on the long term issues. Do crowns on implants become loose or fall out frequently, as far as your as your aware. It just that there a lot things you read on the internet about loose screws and crowns etc. I know you trust everything you read on the internet, it that its a life long decision and I would greatly appreciate the opinion of a expert. And if there was a time period in the life of the implant where instances such ad these where likely to occur

Will implants restore my facial structure?

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011
Q.

Hello!
Three of my wisdom teeth and 2 molars (1st and second) were pulled this year in February. The appearance of my face has changed drastically. I am ready to get two new implants for the molars. Will the appearance of my face go back to the way it was, in some way? Also, is there a certain amount of time I should wait to get them replaced? What’s the longest amount of time I can wait before my teeth start shifting so much that I can’t get implants? Thank you!
