What Treatment Would You Recommend to Rejuvenate Thin Enamel?

Wednesday, February 11th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I’ve got quite thin enamel and consequently I have discoloured, relatively-short teeth with gaps. I would preferably like to have as many teeth rejuvenated as recommended (e.g. in a smile, let’s say between 12-14). I was just wondering what treatment you would recommend (bearing in mind my teeth are reasonably slim due to my lack of enamel, but I’m not sure how slim they have to be so that veneering is not an option…they’re not too thin though) and what the cost would be? Thanks!

How Can I Stop My Tooth From Chipping Even More?

Tuesday, December 9th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. My right front tooth has been chipping away for a few years now, it started very small, not noticeable at all. A few days ago I notice a slightly bigger chip in the middle of the tooth. I can feel my tooth is very thin and quite weak in that area. I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to improve the look of it, or prevent it from chipping even more. I was thinking maybe to get my two front teeth filed down to match? Is this an option? I asked my dentist about this years ago but he said its nothing to worry about, just try not to drink sugary fluids. Please let me know my options. I am looking for prevention and a long term fix. Thanks for reading.

Would Cosmetic Bonding be Suitable For My Daughter?

Thursday, September 18th, 2014
Q.

Good morning Dr Gambroudes, I’m hoping you can offer some advice for my daughter. My daughter is 18 years old, and in the process of having her teeth straightened in a brace. unfortunately my daughter has severe enamel erosion due to over exposure to fruits such as pineapples as a child. She has recently under gone surgery to remove overcrowding. She is very nervous with dentists, which is part of the reason as to why her teeth became a problem. Her teeth are thin in apperance, and on the yellow side. I would like to know if cosmetic bonding can help her? Please help as I’m so worried that she will have no teeth when she grows older.

My front teeth are becoming very thin, would Lumineers or cosmetic bonding be a good choice?

Friday, March 23rd, 2012
Q.

I am 31 years of age with a good set of teeth as I have no fillings.

However, the main problem I have is that my front two teeth are becoming very thin as my enamel has gradually reduced over time- so thin on one of my teeth that you can see through 2mm of it. I am becoming increasingly worried about chipping my front teeth whilst I eat, as they seem very weak.

I am interested in cosmetic surgery for the front two teeth. If anything I would like to strengthen and restore my natural teeth and therefore wonder whether Lumineers or cosmetic bonding would suit. Alternatively, you may know of something longer lasting and of more benefit to me.

I am situated in Lincolnshire and would like to know of a contact around the area rather than being directed to e.g. London.
Thank you

Can veneers widen my thin teeth?

Thursday, January 20th, 2011
Q.

I’ve had braces and my teeth themselves are now quite straight, but the shape of them is very narrow and rabbit like still. Would veneers etc. stop this and make them completely straight?
