Q. Hi.. Good Day Dr Moore! I have a 7 year old daughter who lost(she was six year old then) her front milk teeth but it’s almost a year there’s still no sign of the permanent teeth..should I worry already for this..Pls help..
A. It might be worth checking with your dentist although they can take a while to come through even when the baby tooth has come out

Q. Hello, my dentist done a cap on my tooth a year ago, but it was the wrong size, it has recently started to smell and cause me some discomfort. When he put the cap in the dentist filed the tooth below, is this good practice? Also he didn’t remove the nerve in the remaing part of the tooth, sould he have? I have now been informed by my dentist that it needs to be replaced (me footing the bill!). I am about to book my appointment, and am concerned about the dentists experience, he said that he will cut the cap, that’s already on my tooth, into four, for removal. Does this sound right, because I am very concerned about the remaining part of tooth underneath. Thank you
A. It’s best to cut the crown into pieces before removing it as this protects the tooth underneath You would normally only reomve the nerve if the tooth causes pain or an infection is present

Q. hello! I really want a silver tooth, and was curious on how its done, cost and if i dont like it can i have it removed? Thanks for you time!
A. hi many thanks for your email a silver tooth is usually placed over your existing tooth but so not to look too bulky the tooth inquestion is prepared down a little to accomodate room, therefore if you did not like it you would then probably have to replace it with a porcelain veneer. the cost of a silver tooth varies from £600 – £1000 dependant on where you go for the treatment.

Q. My crown fell off at dinner and now the root canal filling fell out. My dentis t is on vacation and I leave tomorrow “on a jet plane”. Am I in big trouble with the hole.
A. hi many thanks for your email if the tooth has been root canal treated then there is no infected nerve in the tooth to cause you severe pain. however as soon as you can i would try to get the tooth sorted.

Q. i have a chipped tooth in the front and i was wondering just because it is chipped will it decay or get worse?
A. If it has chipped because of decay then i will get worse very quickly. If there is no deacy present at the moment get it checked by your dentist as soon as possible.

Q. Good day, i have a 7 yr old daughter, she once had non-hogkins limphoma, and when she was operated her front lower and upper teeth were removed together with the gums which bring out teeth. i want to know whwther she can get implants or not, i once visited one dentist who said she can only can implants at the age of 16, but now she keeps asking me that “when are my teeth going to grow”. i stay in zimbabwe in harare. i’d appreciate your help. concerned dad
A. You need to wait until she has finished growing approx 16 onwards, she can wear an appliance to fill the gap until she gets older. It will be worth waiting for.

A. At Aviva Cosmetic Dentistry I treat some very nervous patients. I have a sedationist who would be able to make you very relaxed using something very similar to valium. Q. Hi, my jaws are unaligned, the lower jaw sits further back than the top. My front teeth therefore protrude and give the buck tooth look, sticking out. The top jaw gums also show too much. generaly my teeth are healthy and well not crooked. Is there anything that can be done to help, that isnt major surgery etc. The option when I was at school meant major surgery and braces.
A. You could have barces to just tidy up the teeth, however if the only option was surgery in the past it is likely that this is still the best long-term option. Ask for an opinion from an experienced Orthodontist to find out all your options.

Q. what is the worst thing to do for your teeth to go wonkey?
A. gum disease will cause you to lose bone around your teeth that can allow your teeth to drift.

Q. Hi there. I am 23 and one of my front teeth has been pushed forward over the years so it now sticks out. I am very self conscious about it and it affects my confidence. I’m just wondering what the best option for me is?
A. It sounds like a brace might work well. I use an Inman Aligner for mild crowding it works quickly and gives good results. Try to find a dentist close to you who can provide this treatment for you.

Q. If slight showing of Titanium after 6 years, is this of any concern to my implant?
A. This can happen., just like gums may recede on natural teeth. I would recommend you see a dentist regularly to keep it under review

Q. Hi there i have a question for you i have a impacted wisdom tooth its my lower right side my dentist told me i could take it out whenever i want and its not a big deal, well my question is can that wisdom tooth cause my second molar to start raising up and make a couple of my bottom teeth crooked? because that is happening but like i said he said it wasnt a big deal!? can you please help me? thanks
A. Hi
It is very unlikely for the wisdom tooth to cause the crowding, but an examination would be required.
If you are getting repeated infections or it is causing damge to you adjacent tooth then it may require removal. Your dentist would discuss all your options.

Q. my two top front teeth are chipped and i am concerned they will chip even more is it possible to repair them, will i have to go private and hoe much roughly will it cost, as i am having trouble finding an nhs dentist.
A. I recommend you call around to find an NHS dentist in your area taking on new patients or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/
If you decided to go down the private route then after your examination your dentist can inform you on the costs involved in repairing this.
Kind regards
