Q.
Hiya, my 17 year old daughter has an overbite and has been told she will need jaw surgery before anything can be done to straighten her teeth. She really doesn’t want to have to have any surgery and I noticed in one of your replies you said that the jaw continues to grow until the age of 18 to 19. Is there an alternative to correct her jaw such as blocks or she mentioned something about rubber bands that some of her friends had. We did ask our orthodontist last year but he seemed to think that it wouldn’t work as she is fully grown now. She desperately would like to give this a go rather than undergo surgery, what do you think, might it work? Please help? Many thanks, Diana.,
