I have just been through the process of volunteering

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Q.

I have just been through the process of volunteering at leeds dental institute and was promised after all my appointments i was gauranteed to have my teeth straightened for free.

I never got chance to get a brace when i was younger and i am now 20.

Today at my orthodontics appointment i have been told my teeth are not bad enough for treatment at the institute, so i have returned to look for private care.

My teeth are moderately-severe crowded top and bottom, and i have a overjet of about 6mm. my top centre line is correct but my bottom is 1mm to the left.

What would you suggest would be the best brace for me?
I would preferably prefer something relatively cheap and maybe something less discreet that traditional braces if possible

I’m 22 and currently working 16 hours part time.Is there any chance i could get my teeth straightened on the NHS as i don’t think i will be able to afford to get it done privately? One of my front teeth overlaps the other. I don’t know who else to ask and it’s really affecting my confidence when i talk to people.,

When I was About 9 years old I had a back fitted brace

Q.
When I was About 9 years old I had a back fitted brace, this did help a bit but I was told I had to get my funds slit and my k9’s pulled down and then my teeth would get straightened out, as I was 9 this sounded scary so I didn’t have it done. I am very very insicure now and hate smiling or laughing as my teeth look terrible. Would I be able to get this done now on the nhs or would I need to pay. And how much would it cost.,

Are there any other discrete braces options to Invisalign, as I was told I cannot have this treatment?

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010
Q.
Hi there, i really need to straighten my teeth, however i dread to have conventional braces as I am at an age which i think it will look embarassing! I work in a senior role which involves presentations and I am becoming very conscious about my teeth, I had braces when i was young but my dentist did not do a good job! I am thinking invisalign, i did visit one dentist and he said it would not be possible with my teeth without a good reason. Waht do i do, are there any other discreet options. Help please. Thanks,
