hello Dr Moore. I have been informed by my dental practitioner that all of my back mulars top and bottom hav to be taken out and will need dentures… i’m only 30 and dread it i wud prefer implants instead but heard there very expensive does your surggery offer a good finance plan i can only afford £100 per month? also my font teeth are crokid i would also like to know where your surgery is or if there is a good cosmetic denist in or around e17

Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. After eight months i am still unable to get used to my upper dentures. I also still need my bottom ones done. I am feeling pressure from my dentist to have the bottom set done even though i am finding i can not cope with my top set. I have lost two stone in weight and now have a new found fear of food. The best he has offered me is denture implants for my top set at a price of £3.500 but i really can not afford this, however i feel i really can not go on with these dentures, and the thought of having to have my bottom set removed petrifies me as i suffer from what you call dental phobia .. to what is an extreme level. My life is ‘hell’ so is there really no chance of help on the NHS?

hi there, i would like some advice regarding dental treatment. here is my story, when i was a young man i was a regular visitor to the dentist, but as ive got older they have become less frequent, the reason for this is, as i was growing through my teens, i started having anxiety attacks, and whislt at the dentists i had on, i felt as though i couldnt breath with all the hands in my mouth, and i was gagging all the time feeling as thi i was choking. its embarrasing as i have a boken molar , and that is weeping blood, and my breath is smelly, but even tho im a 39 year old man i feel shaky at the thought of visiting a dentist, ive been looking at sedation dentisrty i would be very gratefull if you could tell me more about it. many thanks

i have been so scared to visit a dentist which has led to my teeth getting in poor shape, eg rotting away, falling out, all yellow, i am a smoker, i am 49 year old male, i been told i need a crowns, bridge etc all these word make me more confused, i also been worried of the cost, i been quoted 3,000.00 to 5,000.00 for the complete treatment. here’s my problem i’m so afraid to go to the dentist i have had some bad experience, my teeth are not as good as they used to be by me having had five children and all. But my problem is the roots on my teeth are so long until dentist have a hard time pulling them out and i have had my lip split,two dentist had come and work on me at one time cause the other couldn’t get the tooth, and some dentist’s have even deaden my tooth and walked away and come back and still couldn’t pull it. please give me some advice. I have a really big fear of the dentist, this fear has meant I haven’t been since I was abour 10, I am now 22 and my teeth are really bad, They are crooked at the front and are uneven throughout my mouth. I got hit in the mouth a year and a half ago on the left side of my jaw, I was in severe pain and could not open my mouth and felt that my bottom left back tooth had been knocked out of place, this tooth is now rotting away and cracked badly, the pain is so bad I am taking 24 nurofen a day just to ease the pain abit. The top tooth where I got hit has also started to crack, I can not afford a dentist though and I recieve no benefits. I am hoping to get married next year and I want the confidence to be able to smile in my pictures instead of “Pouting” all the time, please help me, what can I do?,
