Hi, I had problems when I was a kid with the dentist my parents picked and since then I’ve never really had much trust in dentists. I want this to change. Since I’ve had kids my teeth keep getting worse and I don’t know what to do please help. I have just been to a new dentist today as I’d lost a filling at the weekend, when he had a look he wasn’t happy with my teeth at all and said who was you’re last dentist and do you eat a lot of sugar food and drink loads of tea when I told him, he looked at me and didn’t believe me.
I’m a veggie, don’t eat sweets and won’t give them the kids, I only drink water as don’t like tea or coffee since my first child, I don’t smoke or drink.
I’m pregnant at the moment and getting very scared over my teeth as he told me the tooth I need treatment on needs a new filling as it was rotten in places. I don’t want all my teeth to rotten away.
Please help, I don’t know what can I do please.

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013 Please can someone help me. I have gone over this e-mail in my mind hundreds of times and just haven’t had the courage to write it. My hands are shaking typing this.
I am a 43 year old mother of a three year old I am a single parent living off of benefits.
I was a smoker till recently and have lost three stone and am looking after myself because of my son, I am an older mum so i want to be healthy for him.
I am absolutely terrified of the dentist so much so that I have had a toothache for two years. Lately its got so much worse. I take painkillers for a back and shoulder problem, but the pain in my back pales into insignificance compared to the pain in my tooth.
When I was a child my School was just across the road from New Cross Dentist College. Myself and other Children attended on a regular basis, I remember being held down in a chair terrified, whilst one man with a Bunsen burner heated up an instrument to give me a root filling I was about 7-8 at the time, after that I had to sit in a chair numerous times with a gumsheild on having fluoride treatment. I still had baby teeth when i was eighteen, but by that time I had stopped going to the dentist.
My teeth are in a terrible state i am in pain from three of them one is really bad. I hate meeting new people because of my teeth. Ive got no confidence at all and I’m terrified that my son will be bullied at school. I’m sure people treat me differently. My little boys father, who I am no longer with said he would not kiss me because of my teeth.
I am on anti depressants, and have even bought anti biotics online rather than go to the dentist. I know i have ruined my teeth, with smoking and drinking coffee and not visiting the dentist. But I cant live like this any more. I just want to look normal so I can be a proper mum to my son.
I cant sleep I lie awake at night thinking about it, it’s making me ill and I’m scared I’m going to end up with septicaemia. Please can you help me or do you know someone that can.

I need to have a tooth removed but get scared by needles. Is there an alternative?
Thursday, October 25th, 2012hello i hope you have a moment to help me with my dental pain problem. I have to have a tooth removed and. i am in so much pain,. However, even though i’m in this much pain i am terrefied of needles and i have to say I hve a very great phobia of them. so i will no proceed, can you recomend anywhere that i can be gassed to sleep to have my tooth removed to help me, this would be a big help thank you so much because my tooth hurts this bad if i could stand a needle to take away my pain i would i just get really scared. please help me to get through this pain.

I have been informed by my dental practitioner that all of my back mulars top and bottom hav to be taken out and will need dentures… i’m only 30 and dread it i wud prefer implants instead but heard there very expensive does your surggery offer a good finance plan i can only afford £100 per month? also my font teeth are crokid i would also like to know where your surgery is or if there is a good cosmetic denist in or around e17
I can’t cope with my new dentures but I still need bottom teeth sorted. Can NHS not help me?
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011Hello Dr Hughes. After eight months i am still unable to get used to my upper dentures. I also still need my bottom ones done. I am feeling pressure from my dentist to have the bottom set done even though i am finding i can not cope with my top set. I have lost two stone in weight and now have a new found fear of food. The best he has offered me is denture implants for my top set at a price of £3.500 but i really can not afford this, however i feel i really can not go on with these dentures, and the thought of having to have my bottom set removed petrifies me as i suffer from what you call dental phobia .. to what is an extreme level. My life is ‘hell’ so is there really no chance of help on the NHS?
My molar is broken and bleeding but I am scared to visit the dentist, any tips?
Monday, March 14th, 2011hi there, i would like some advice regarding dental treatment. here is my story, when i was a young man i was a regular visitor to the dentist, but as ive got older they have become less frequent, the reason for this is, as i was growing through my teens, i started having anxiety attacks, and whislt at the dentists i had on, i felt as though i couldnt breath with all the hands in my mouth, and i was gagging all the time feeling as thi i was choking. its embarrasing as i have a boken molar , and that is weeping blood, and my breath is smelly, but even tho im a 39 year old man i feel shaky at the thought of visiting a dentist, ive been looking at sedation dentisrty i would be very gratefull if you could tell me more about it. many thanks

i have been so scared to visit a dentist which has led to my teeth getting in poor shape, eg rotting away, falling out, all yellow, i am a smoker, i am 49 year old male, i been told i need a crowns, bridge etc all these word make me more confused, i also been worried of the cost, i been quoted 3,000.00 to 5,000.00 for the complete treatment. Please please please help me and give some advise as i have justed started a job as customer relations advisor at bank and i am so scared to smile as my rotten teeths make me so scared….please please please help

But my problem is the roots on my teeth are so long until dentist have a hard time pulling them out and i have had my lip split,two dentist had come and work on me at one time cause the other couldn’t get the tooth, and some dentist’s have even deaden my tooth and walked away and come back and still couldn’t pull it. please give me some advice. Is there away a dentist can tell if your teeth will be troble getting it out?,
