I think my root canal treatment has caused pain on my left-side and audio transmission, does that sound plausible?

Monday, March 14th, 2011
Q.

hello. I am living in the Uk and have been having some problems with my current dentistry. ever since I got a root canal done I experience extreme pain on my left side, involuntary winking and closing of eyes, jerking of limbs, and have even heard what sounds like an audio transmission of some kind. Is there anyway that my dental work could cause all this? thank u.

I had a tooth pulled, would I be suitable for an implant?

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
Q.

I was having issues with a recent root canal and decided to have it pulled instead of going through re-treatment and possibly oral surgery. The permanent crown had not yet been placed, and I was wondering if it could be used instead for an implant. My dentist was not optimistic that it would work, but he was very unhappy with my decision at all. I’d really like a second opinion.

Thank you!!

How sturdy are resin bonded bridges?

Friday, March 4th, 2011
Q.

I lost my 2 front teeth many years ago, I had a metal plate fitted but one of the teeth that support this is now a little loose and has had root canal treatment
I am considering a resin bonded bridge. The teeth on either side are healthy. How permanant are these bridges and how much would this procedure cost? Thank you.

I have a tooth ache, could I have something wrong with my spleen?

Friday, March 4th, 2011
Q.

I have a toothache in my bottom molar, no 6 on my left. I assumend something was rotten and rushed off to the dentist. He checked it out carefully, and found nothing wrong. He X-rayed the tooth, the root from both sides, and said there was nothing wrong. He found a lot of plaque on the inside of my bottom teeth and especially on the sore one. He said he thought that the tooth was reacting supsiciously to the plaque. We had it removed by th oral hygienist. Now the plaque is gone, and the tooth is still sore. It is sensitive to pressure, hot and cold liquids. It is not excruciating, and it doesn’t seem to get worse. It just stays like that. I’ts been more than a month.

A friend said that one’s teeth are linked to certain organs, and apparently, that tooth is linked to the spleen or the stomach – she said it is on the same “meridian”, so if there is nothing wrong with the tooth, it might be that there is something wrong with the spleen. I would appreciate your comments on this, or how to proceed from here.

If the dentist didn’t find anything wrong, and I paid through my neck for the appointment, I can’t imagine going back. What more can he do than all the Xrays etc.?

My teeth hurt after root canal, is this indicative of a problem?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011
Q.

HI

I had root canal treatment yesterday, and whilst the treatment went well i have a temperary filling and crown and need to have it finished next week. This is because my dentist said the roots are very long, she actually shown me the Xray and they practically come to the bottom of my jaw line. So more prep is needed.

Now to my concern: after the treatment everything was fine with no pain, however this moring i have woke up with quite a sensitive tooth, it’s not painful in general, just when i bite down. Is this normal, And can having such long roots cause more serious problems in the future? My dentist seemed quite….not concerned but well a little bemused!! Don’t get me wrong i like my dentist she is very patient with me as im a very nervous patient, i would just like a specialist opinion.
