Eye (canine) tooth has moved after removal of braces

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi I wore train tracks when I was a teenager but one of my eye teeth has gone crooked again. I was interested in the Inman Aligner but read on their website that the eye tooth is particularly difficult to move with removable braces? Is this true? I wore Invisalign for a year and this did not straighten the tooth. Also if I decided to go with 6 month braces which would you recommend: the clear or the metal braces and why? Thank you

I am currently considering braces again. I had them about 14 years ago but did not wear my retainer as I should have. Now one of front middle teeth is longer than the other. Is there a way to fix this problem without getting metal braces again?

I was considering getting Lumineers

Monday, December 1st, 2008
Q.
Hi I was considering getting Lumineers as I feel really that I lack confidence due to the current condition of my teeth. Looking on the internet, I couldn’t find any information on the cost of this or where I could get it done. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. Is it really expensive? Because I am 18 years old and am going to University next year, I’m not sure I could afford really expensive treatment, but I really want something to change the way my teeth look, especially my bottom ones which are really ground down and mishaped and jaggy, they are all also quite discoloured and yellow-ish. Also in a unrelated question, I have had braces in the last year, which have since been taken off. The orthodontist applied a metal bar like thing on the back of my top teeth to keep them from separating , and said that I dont need to go back to him , and that the bar will come off itself. Is this true and how long does it take, as I think it is causing a metallic taste in my mouth. Thanks in advance for your help.

My fixed retainer came off and my gap between my front teeth opened

Sunday, February 24th, 2008
Q.
As a child I wore a fixed retainer for 18 months to close a gap between my two front teeth, a fixed retainer was also placed on the back of the teeth to prevent it reopening in the future. However the retainer on the back came off, my dentist took it off completely as he said there was no point replacing it. Since the gap has opened slightly. I will not wear a fixed retainer again would there be any other way to close the gap and prevent it reopening? I have an appointment with an orthodontist but it is expensive and I really don’t want to go if the only option would be to wear a fixed retainer. Thanks
