Q. I chipped my front teeth as a teen ager and got three caps. Over time root canals were done. One root canal was done nearly 30 years ago in Hungary with some mysteriouis metal. The caps were replaced over 15 years ago and it is important to redo the root canal treatment. My dentist suggests laser treatment and then filling the roots with some rubber substance or a rubber substance with gold tips. What are the advantages and disadvantages of adding the gold tips to the roots? I would think that the less metal in our mouths the better.

Anyway, my top middle tooth had previously had a black filling in, and the other day while I was eating a crunchy pizza, I heard a crack and half the filling fell out, the tooth is wobbly at the back half and Im really sore. Every time I swallow, I taste a chemical taste and worried about mercury poisoning (if not, what is the taste?) I have to find a dentist on Monday, and wont even have the time off to get it fixed until next Friday, whats the best thing to do until then, is the chemical taste harmless? half the filling is still there. Thank you This is horrible

My dentist said I need a new bridge, I was told that bridges are only guaranteed for 3 months, I thought that fillings, crowns etc were guaranteed for 12 months. I had a bridge previously for 12 years with no problems (also using my teeth on Sellotape). This makes me wonder if the materials used are sub-standard as I have done nothing extreme to warrant the damage.
