How Would I Go About Having My Front Teeth Replaced?

Thursday, July 21st, 2016
Q.

Hi. I want to get my 2 front teeth taken out and fake ones put in. My 2 front teeth stick out, so I want them out and two false ones to replace them so they are straight. How much would I be looking at and how do I go about it? Could I get this done in one sitting? I hate my teeth and need them doing as soon as possible. Also, can you be put to sleep? Because don’t like the thought of being awake when getting my teeth pulled out. Thank you.

How Strong are Replacement Teeth, and How Long Should They Last?

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dr Gambroudes. How strong are replacement teeth? Also, how long are expected to last? I had one of my wisdom teeth replaced, but it came loose and fell out after two years. Now I only eat with the left side of my mouth. I feel very uncomfortable with the tooth missing, what should I do? I feel that I should replace it to enable me feel comfortable and enjoy my meals. I will also want to change my dentist.
I will also want to know how often one needs to visit the dentist so as to take care of the teeth before any problems occur. What is cosmetic teeth surgery? How often should one go for teeth cleaning? Thank you.

Can I replace missing teeth with a bridge or are there other options?

Monday, April 11th, 2011
Q.

Hello,

I am having major problems with my teeth at the moment, i am currently with an nhs dentist at the local hospital, i have been seeing a dentist regularly for 10 yrs, over the last 2 years my teeth has severely deteriorated, due to osteoporosis and parathyroid which is draining my bones of calcium, i am a 43 yr old woman , the problem seems that my teeth are rotting and the gums are receding, all my dentist seems to do is remove teeth, i now have 6 gaps, 4 at the front, and i plate with 2 teeth on, all this is making me feel very down and he is planning on removing more, i don’t pay for treatment at the moment, but could you please advise me on what options i have, and is it possible to be fitted with a bridge, thank you very much in advance

Can I have a broken crown fixed even though there is a post underneath?

Monday, April 4th, 2011
Q.

I have a crowned tooth with a post on the lower right side, third from the back (or 5th from the front).

I bit into some food which was extremely hard a few days ago and since I have been in pain.

This crown has come off once before and was just glued backed in place.

Do you think it would be possible to have this tooth recrowned bearing in mind there is a post underneath too? One dentist I have spoken to said if the crown ever comes off the tooth would have to be removed, but as the crown came off once before and was replaced I cannot see why it could not be recrowned with a new crown and post.

Also, about the middle of last year I had to have a crowned tooth upper right (molar 2nd from the back) removed because of the failure of a root canal filling. The dentist had puctured the root cannal in a few places and the root cannal filling seeped out. I ended up with quite a bad infection, which distroyed some of the bone. I have been finding it more difficult to eat (chew food properly since then and feel this is why I chewed on the hard food using the lower tooth, which now is giving me pain. After all I have lost a molar which is used to grind food.

My whole bite now seems wrong.

I have a little dental insurance, which would probably cover the cost of a new crown, but not pay for implants.

Can you advise the best course of action as I do not want to lose another tooth.

Kind regards
