Would a Hawley Retainer Close the Gap In My Teeth?

Monday, April 20th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I have always had a little gap between my front teeth (the upper big ones). So I was thinking about wearing Hawley retainers, could they close a gap that is about 1.5 mm long? I don’t have any more problems with my teeth, and if it could help how long would it take to get at least a minor result (for example a 0,5mm moving)? This is urgent, so I would like you to reply as soon as possible. I don’t want to wear braces because they’re too expansive and they’re fixed onto my teeth and I don’t want something like that. Thank you.

I’ve Been Quoted £2,600 For Invisible Braces. Would That Cost Be About Right?

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013
Q.

Hello. I would like one of my lower front teeth to go back in line with the rest as it is indented. I have been told that I could wear an invisible brace (removable) for 6 month at a cost of £2,600. Would that cost be about right? Also, my husband has the same problem except his problem tooth is on the top set of teeth.  His tooth has protruded slightly more than usual over the last couple of months and so he too has been told that an invisible brace could be fitted and would solve the problem in 6 months at a cost of £2,600. Please give some advice. Thank you, Dr Shaffie.

I’m 20 Years Old, Can You Recommend A Brace System For Me?

Monday, June 3rd, 2013
Q.

hello.
I would like to ask if you do braces?
I’am 20 years old and been thinking to apply them to my teeth from long time ago.
From my viewing my front teeth on one upper set is slightly awry, as well as the one next to it.
And on the lower set there also three teeth that doesnt seem to be in the right positions.
I would like to know how much would this cost, and for how long I would have to have them on my teeth.
Thank you.

Have a protruding tooth but also suffer from mouth ulcers, what do you recommend?

Monday, March 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I have an upper canine tooth which protrudes from my outer gum. I’m 33 now, when I was a teenager I wore a removeable brace which started to create a small gap behind it. I did and still do suffer from severe mouth ulcers so the thought of going down a fixed brace route is not something that I want to do. Plus at this current stage in my life, finances …I cannot afford to pay 3 to 5000 on a brace. Be so so grateful if you could perhaps talk me through ‘all’ possible options, along with consultation fees who I should see at your surgery etc. I dont think I have ever smiled properly and its depressing ! Thank you very much for your help,

I wear a brace, but my teeth are moving incorrectly. What should I do?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010
Q.

Hello,
I had braces when i was 15 (now 21) and still wear my retainer regularly – atleast once every 2-3 weeks. I’ve just noticed the two front teeth on the bottom have started to move back and they also move very slightly when i press them with my finger. they’re not wobbly but just show some movement if i press them. Is this normal?? I’ve been wearing the retainer a couple of days now which seems to have helped. is it a good idea to keep wearing the retainer everyday and should i keep it up long term?

Some of my teeth have moved back because I stopped wearing my retainers after braces treatment. Would I need braces again?

Monday, November 1st, 2010
Q.
Hello Andrew, Hope all has been well, I’ve worn braces for 1 year back in 2004 and then were given retainers, I wore them time to time but was a bit of rebel when it came down to them. Years passed and I realised one of my upper front teeth are moving forward and there’s a gap on the side of it next to another tooth (one next to the canine, how the gap is like a slit) And it’s the same situation below aswell, although this gap is bigger. I’m hoping to get them pushed back but does this mean I need to wear braces again? Or would I be given special sort of retainers that push them back and keep them in place? Hope to hear from you soon, Kind regards,

Is there any braces that could move my two front teeth forward, and would it be possible to have a removable brace?

Thursday, October 28th, 2010
Q.
Hi i have very good teeth with no fillings most are really straight apart from my front two middle top ones just bellow my nose they tend to slant inwards so therefore looks like my two side teeth stick out slightly, i would love to get them pushed forward so there in line with the rest of my teeth, is there any type of brace that i could wear that would correct this problem, also would a removable brace be an option rather than permanent. Thanks for your help kind regards ,

I am considering lingual braces but can you tell me if they will interfere with oral sex?

Monday, October 11th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr. Patel, I am a 30 years old woman, lately considering to wear Lingual braces (Internal). In fact i am getting married in 6 months, and i have some hesitations regarding the braces. I have an embarrasing questionto ask you, and i hope you can guide me to the right type of braces; do lingual braces interfere with oral sex? If yes, what other types of braces do not? Thank you,
