Should I Get My Crown Reduced in Size?

Thursday, May 21st, 2015
Q.

My front crown has been coming forward and now leaves ulcers on my bottom lip. My dentist referred me to an orthodontist. I said that I feel the front jaw is moving forward, she said that I would be better trying to reduce size of the crown as braces take a long time. I do have a overhang and also small chin, but I have also noticed I’m starting to spray as I talk and have woken up a couple of times choking, could this all be part of my jaw alignment and can anything be done? I am 51. Thanks.

I Recently Had Four Crowns Fitted But Have Come To The Conclusion They Are Too Long, Is It Possible To Have Them Shortened?

Monday, October 21st, 2013
Q.

Hi, I’ve recently had 4 crowns fitted on my upper 4 front teeth.

I thought they looked okay before I had them cemented in place but after a few days with them I’ve come to the conclusion they are too long. Other people have commented on this also. They are also brighter than my other teeth, but this was not so noticeable in the dentist chair and I know that can not be fixed now.

I was wondering is it possible to have Zirconia crowns shortened and reshaped at the bottom and if so by how much, 1mm maybe?
