My mother has dental phobia and we want quick solution for her missing teeth

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I hope that you can help me…. My Mother has always been plagued by dental problems for as long as I can remember, 15-16 years ago many of her front teeth were chipped decayed and rotten, she was scared stiff of the dentist but over time decided to go and get partial dentures fitted. She is now 70 years of age and her one remaining front tooth has just dropped out, she is happy to just leave it now, but it is my Sisters wedding next April, and she is upset that her mother will be toothless in the photos. My Mother is scared of visiting the dentist again, convinced nothing can be done and that it will be painful, and we can’t afford expensive implants or even to redo her dentures. Are there any economical temporary solutions that would be a Happy Compromise for my sisters big day? I would be very grateful if you could advise me. Happy New Year

I fell and knocked my teeth out ive had infection and bone loss

Sunday, July 6th, 2008
Q.
When I was young I fell and knocked my 2 front teeth as a result I had an operation and the root of one of the teeth was removed. A few years later I has the tooth crowned and not long after I got an infection in the roof of my mouth. An x-ray showed that this infection was going right from the crown up into the palet of my mouth, the specialist told me I need ot have an operation to remove the infection but I have had bone removed during my first operation which I was not aware of and there is a 50/50 chance I could lose the tooth during or not longer after the operation. What would be my best option if I do lose the tooth? Would a dental implant be suitable? And whatever the necessary treatment can you give me an idea of the price I would be looking at?

Saturday, May 31st, 2008
Q.
I lost my two front teeth when I was 8yrs old and since then I have had crowns, plates and now a even wider denture.I always seem to get the dentist that is aggresive in their manner or they have left me in a living hell with infection after infection. My denture has 5 teeth at the front and 1 molar far left. For nearly two years my dentist still says it\’s fine and I\’ve had to be seen at my hospital .Am I a candicate for another bridge as I just can\’t deal with this anymore.I suffer from fibromyalgia and I don\’t think the medication I have been on for the best part of 20yrs has helped my own teeth at all!
